We have all heard of chandelier lighting, but how about each of the parts of a good pink chandelier?
1) Baluster -
A turned wood making the axis of a chandelier.
2) Bead -
A glass drop with a small hole drilled through it.
3) Branch -
Another name for part of a chandelier that holds the lights.
4) Candelabra -
Not to be confused with chandeliers, candelabras are candlesticks designed to stand on tables if they are not too big.
5) Candle nozzle -
The small cup into which the end of the candle is positioned.
6) Canopy -
An inverted shallow dish at the very top of a chandelier from which festoons of beads are suspended.
7) Cage -
An arrangement in which the central stem supporting arms and decorations is replaced by a metal structure.
Crown -
A circular chandelier reminiscent of a crown typically of gilded metal or brass.
9) Crystal Glass -
with a lead content that gives it beautiful properties of clarity, resonance and soft qualities.
10) Drop -
A tiny bit of glass customarily cut into one of many patterns and drilled at one end so that it could be hung from the actual chandelier by using a brass pin.
11) Festoon -
An layout of glass drops or alternatively beads draped and then hung across or down a suitable glass chandelier, or sometimes a piece of rock solid glass shaped into a swag.
12) Prism -
A straight, several-sided drop.
13) Spire -
A tall spike of glass, rounded in section or flat sided. To which arms and lovely looking elements may be connected, crafted from metal, wood or glass.
14) Tent -
A tent shaped assembly on the upper part of a glass chandelier where necklaces of drops affix at the top to a canopy and towards the base to a much larger ring.
15) Venetian -
Glass from the island of Murano, Venice but usually used to relay any chandelier which is in the Venetian style.
