A humidifier is a must have home appliance especially if you are living in a cold climate. Humidifiers work by adding moisture in the air so that you can live more comfortably in your home.
Generally, there are two types of humidifiers, filtered and filterless humidifiers. Today, many people still use filtered humidifiers because it is less expensive compared to the filterless model. The use of filters also serves as an air purifier since it can help trap dust particles and bacteria from circulating inside your home.
New types of humidifiers nowadays don’t use filters to dissipate water into the air. Instead, the device uses a form of rotating discs to disperse water into the air inside your home. Filterless humidifiers are relatively quite expensive compared to the filtered ones because it does not require constant replacement of the filters.
Some models of filtered humidifiers won’t be as much use in the future if ever the company that manufactures the filters has ceased its production. This can become very troublesome when you can’t get to replace your filter to make your humidifier to work more efficiently and you will most probably stop using it at some point in time. Even if you can obtain replacement filters for your humidifier, you will still have to spend some money which can add to the cost of maintaining your humidifier.
One great advantage of having filterless humidifier is that, you won’t have to worry about maintaining the filter because there is no filter to clean or to replace. This way, it can eventually save you money from buying replacement filters. Since filterless humidifier don’t have a filter, dust and mineral deposits in the water can easily build up inside the device. Filterless humidifiers require more cleaning and maintenance compared to the filtered version. When searching for a filterless humidifier, make sure it is made by a reputable manufacturer.
