Savings with Fake CCTV Cameras in Your Home

June 7, 2011.

Home owners can save quite a bit of money through the use of one simple tool in the security arsenal, the fake CCTV camera.  But can these cameras really save a significant dollar amount?  Or is the sacrifice not really worth the savings brought on by these fake cameras.  In this article, we do a simple financial analysis to show you the methodology.  You can use this model for your own analysis with prices and costs that apply to you.

First, make sure that you get a camera that is good enough to make them believable as being real cameras with super close inspection.  Here are the expenses that you can expect.  For the sake of argument, we will look at the difference in expenses in a 2-channel system with two fakes against a 4-channel system with no fakes.  Quality fake CCTV cameras price out between $35 to $50 dollars each.  A good quality starter 2-channel system will cost you about $350.  You need to add in the cost of the fakes to get to the total cost of the camera system.  So, with the two fakes added in, That is about $450.  When you compare that with the cost of about $650 for a good quality 4-channel camera security system, you come up with a reasonable savings in the neighborhood of $200.

Now you have to ask yourself about the $200.  Does the $200 that you can put in your pocket balance out with the holes in your security system?  What else can you do to save the $200?  Perhaps a fake wireless security camera system will save even more money.

It’s all about balancing out the sacrifices with the savings.  You can work out the numbers in all kinds of ways.  The fact is that the fake CCTV camera option can give you more money to work with.  What you do with that money is your choice.  Put it in the bank or beef up your security system.  It’s up to you.
