Buying Newborn Baby Clothes is Fun

May 29, 2011.

Knowing that a newborn baby is arriving, is usually the time when mothers rush into the baby stores and look for beatiful designer baby clothes from well known labels. Unfortunately, there are so many beautiful choices these days that it becomes really hard not to return home without a truckload of baby clothes.

Before you hit the stores, you should ask yourself these questions:

- Am I going to buy newborn baby clothes for a toddler boy or a girl?
- Does it really have to be an expensive fashion label considering that my child will outgrow his or her clothes within 3 months or less?
- What is the wheather going to be like when my newborn baby joins our family?
- Can my older children (if this is not your first child) share their outgrown clothes?

If you’re on a very tight budget like many mothers, you might want to shop around a bit or ask other parents. Often you can also buy really cute newborn baby clothes at thrift stores or second hand. Some discount outlets also offer fantastic baby clothes at unbelievable prices.

Here are some items your newborn baby might need immediately. Please note that these are just some simple ideas to get started:

You should pay attention to the quality of the clothes. Organic materials are always preferable (cotton or wool) as they are not causing skin irritations and most likely last longer than cheaper off-the-shelf items from discount stores. If you cannot afford organic clothing, you can always buy them second hand or buy fewer and better quality items.

In summary, make a list of the types of newborn baby clothes that you may need. Then decide on the properties, materials and set a reasonable budget.
