Water is an essential part of the human body. In fact, almost 70 percent of the body is made up of water.

It is therefore not surprising that dehydration can lead to death in those that are deprived of water for an extended period of time. Many bodily functions rely on an ample supply of fluids. Water helps flush out toxins and other waste products from the body, helps maintain electrolyte balance and proper viscosity of the blood. Drinking at least eight glasses of water each day is essential to maintain adequate hydration. There are various materials used for storing water. The most common ones are plastic, aluminum, and stainless steel.

Let us take a closer look on water bottles that are made of stainless steel. There is a long list of advantages when using this type of material. The primary benefit is that it does not contain any trace of harmful chemicals unlike plastic bottles that have been implicated in leaching harmful substances such as Bisphenol-A, an endocrine disruptor and a carcinogen. Even when exposed to temperature extremes, stainless steel water containers remain safe for use by both adults and children.

These bottles are not only perfect for human health but for the environment as well. Many environmentalists have been immensely concerned of the number of unrecyclable wastes that fill up most garbage dumping sites. With stainless steel water reservoirs, this is minimized because they are very durable and can be used longer. Also, they are recyclable.

Stainless steel water bottles are extremely durable. They do not break easily when dropped. It is also very lightweight and therefore convenient to carry around. These attributes make it a perfect companion for those who love exploring the great outdoors. This type of bottles have a wide mouth making it easy for users to drink from it or to add ice cubes into the containers should they prefer drinking cold beverages. An insulation bag may be used together with the stainless steel container to keep hot liquids warm for a much longer time.

It may take some time for some people to get accustomed to using stainless steel water bottles. To eliminate the slight metallic taste from new containers, soak it overnight with a mixture of vinegar and water. Using this type of material may cost you more than plastic or aluminum, but if you really sum it up, stainless steel is the smartest and the healthiest choice.
